Home removals
Full house and flat moves across the North East and nationwide — packed, carried, and put back together in the right rooms at the other end.

Moving house is mostly a logistics problem wearing an emotional disguise. The furniture has to come apart, travel, and go back together; the boxes have to end up in the room they belong in rather than in a wall of cardboard by the front door; and all of it has to happen on a day you may not fully control, because the keys arrive when the solicitors say they arrive.
That is the job we quote for. You tell us what is in the house — including the loft, the garage and the shed — and we price the whole day against it: the crew, the van, the stairs, the carry from wherever we can park. Blankets, straps, trolleys, shoe covers and floor protection come as standard, not as a line item. We photograph the items, the access routes and both properties before, during and after, so the condition your things left in is a matter of record rather than of memory.
At the far end we place and arrange things where you want them. Some of our team have a good eye for a room layout and will happily help you work one out. The aim is that when we leave, you can sit down and put the telly on.
Who this is for
- Flats, terraces and family homes of any size
- Completion-day moves that depend on a key release
- Moves needing beds, wardrobes or garden furniture dismantled and rebuilt
- Long-distance and national moves anywhere in mainland Britain
What's included
- Blankets, straps and trolleys
- Furniture is wrapped and secured before it moves, not once it is already in the van. Trolleys do the carrying so doorframes and skirting boards do not.
- Shoe covers, gloves and floor protection
- Worn and laid indoors wherever you would like them. It is your carpet on the day you are least able to clean it.
- A photographic condition record
- We photograph items, access routes and both properties before, during and after the move. It protects you as much as it protects us.
- Placement in the right rooms
- We put things where you want them rather than stacking everything inside the front door. Ask, and we will help you work the layout out.
- Dismantling and reassembly, on request
- Beds, wardrobes, garden furniture — tell us at quoting stage so we bring the right tools and allow the time. It is not automatic.
- Appliance disconnection, on request
- Washing machines, cookers and ovens, wall-mounted TVs. Normally at no extra charge; mention it in your quote request.
Worth knowing before you book
The things that most often change a job on the day. We would rather they were on this page than a conversation on your doorstep.
- We do not reconnect appliances at the far end. Anything needing an electrician, a plumber or a gas engineer is a job for a qualified specialist, and we will not pretend otherwise.
- A fixed price is fixed against the details you give us. Undeclared items, stairs or parking restrictions we were not told about, or furniture needing dismantling that was not mentioned, all change the job — so over-share at quoting stage.
- Suitable parking as close as reasonably possible to both addresses is the customer's responsibility. If your street needs a permit, tell us early and we will plan around it.
- You or someone you trust aged 18 or over needs to be at both addresses, unless we have agreed otherwise beforehand.
Home removals questions
For a full house move, and especially for any completion day where you are waiting on keys, we would recommend the fixed price. The crew takes no other job that day, there is no clock, and the price does not move even if the keys arrive hours late. The hourly rate tends to work out cheaper on smaller, straightforward jobs — a few items, no dismantling, easy access.
Usually not. The online form prices a home move from the rooms, what is in them and the access at both ends, which keeps things quick — no photos needed. If you would rather not fill in a form, photos and a short video walkthrough of each room over WhatsApp do the same job. For larger homes or long-distance moves we may arrange an in-person survey, and we will tell you if that is the case rather than springing it on you.
Two weeks' notice is our preference and gives you the best choice of dates. Weekends and bank holidays go first, because we do not charge a premium for them. We do take last-minute and emergency bookings when we have availability, so it is always worth calling rather than assuming we are full.
You will not lose your deposit. We arrange a storage solution so your belongings are safe, and move you into your new home once things are sorted. There is a charge for the second move out of storage, but it is discounted — typically around half the original rate.
Where we do this
We work across the North East from a base in County Durham, and we take long-distance moves anywhere in mainland Britain.
Other things we do
- Business removalsOffice and commercial moves worked around your trading hours, so the disruption lands on a Sunday evening rather than a Monday morning.
- PackingWe pack before the move, with all materials included in the quoted price — and anything we pack is our responsibility.
- StorageContainerised, secure storage arranged for a few days or several months — including same-day, when a completion falls through at the worst moment.
- Single items & small loadsOne sofa, one marketplace collection, one thing that will not go in the car — priced by the hour, because a small job should not cost like a house move.
- ClearancesHouse, end-of-tenancy and probate clearances by a registered waste carrier, with anything reusable donated rather than tipped.
