1. Who is responsible for your data

Nabosh Removals is a trading name of Nabosh Logistics Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16111028, and that company is the data controller for the information described here. It decides what is collected and why.

If you want to ask about anything on this page, or make a request about your own data, email contact@naboshremovals.co.uk or call us on the number on the contact page, and say it is a data protection question. We will point it at the right person. Contact us

2. What we collect

We only ask for what a removals job actually needs. That falls into four groups.

When you get a quote online — your name, email address and phone number; the full collection and delivery addresses including postcodes; the property type, floor and access details at both ends; the items you tick off the list; your preferred date; and any extras you choose.

When you upload a photograph — the photographs or video you send us of a special item, or of the rooms in a property being cleared. These are used to price the job and nothing else.

When you contact us — your name, contact details, and whatever you tell us in the message, on the phone or over WhatsApp.

When you pay — the fact and amount of a payment. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never reach us or this website.

We do not ask for, and would rather you did not send us, anything sensitive: health information, financial details beyond the payment itself, or documents such as passports and deeds.

3. Why we use it, and on what basis

Under UK GDPR every use of your data needs a lawful basis. Ours are these:

To quote and to carry out your move — this is necessary to take the steps you have asked for before a contract, and then to perform that contract. It covers the quote, the booking, the crew knowing where to go, and the invoice.

To answer a question you have sent us — the same basis where you are asking about a move; otherwise our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact the business.

To keep records we are required to keep — our legal obligation — tax and accounting records, and the waste transfer records that come with our waste carrier registration.

To investigate a damage claim or a complaint — our legitimate interest in establishing what happened and putting it right, balanced against your interest in the matter being handled fairly.

We do not sell your data, and we do not send marketing to people who have not asked for it.

4. Who else sees it

Your information reaches other organisations only where the job needs it:

Google Maps Platform — the address lookup and the mileage calculation on our quote form are provided by Google. The address you are typing, and the two postcodes for the route, are sent to Google to return suggestions and a distance. Your name and contact details are not.

Our storage partners — where your move involves storage, the facility needs enough detail to accept and release your goods. The storage contract is with them directly, and they hold that data as their own controller.

Our payment provider — to take a deposit or a balance payment by link. Card details go to them, not to us.

Our own suppliers — the companies that host this website and our booking system, and that send our email. They process data on our instructions and cannot use it for their own purposes.

We will also disclose information where the law requires it — to HMRC, to the Environment Agency in connection with waste records, or to insurers and their investigators where a claim has been made.

5. Cookies and embedded content

This website sets no advertising cookies and runs no analytics or tracking scripts. Nothing you do here is profiled or sold on.

The quote form keeps your answers in your own browser as you work through it, so that closing the tab by accident does not lose them. That stays on your device and is never sent anywhere except when you submit the form.

The video on our homepage is embedded from YouTube using its no-cookie domain, which means YouTube sets nothing until you actually play the clip. If you do play it, YouTube receives that request and its own privacy policy applies to it.

6. How long we keep it

Different records have different lives. An enquiry or a quote that never became a booking is deleted after twelve months. A completed booking is kept for six years, because tax and accounting law requires it and because a claim can still be brought in that time, and a claim is kept for six years after it is closed.

Photographs you send for pricing are deleted once the job they relate to is finished and the window for a claim has passed.

You can ask us to delete something sooner, and we will unless we are required to keep it.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Have inaccurate data corrected.
  • Ask us to delete data we no longer have a reason to keep.
  • Object to, or ask us to restrict, a particular use of your data.
  • Ask us to send your data to you, or to another provider, in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent was what we relied on.

There is no charge for any of these, and we will respond within one month. We may need to check who you are before we act on a request — which is a protection for you, not an obstacle.

8. If you are not happy with how we have handled your data

Tell us first if you can, because most things are quickest to fix directly. If you would rather not, or if you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK regulator for data protection.

The ICO takes complaints online and by phone. Make a complaint to the ICO

9. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when what we do changes. The date at the top tells you when the wording last changed; if a change materially affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you rather than relying on you noticing.
