About us

A removals firm that would rather tell you now than on the day

We are Nabosh Removals, based in County Durham and working across the whole of the North East — NE, SR, DH, TS and DL postcodes — with long-distance moves anywhere in mainland Britain.

What we actually do

Most of our work is moving households: flats, terraces and family homes, packed and carried and put back together in the right rooms at the other end. Around that sits everything a move tends to drag along with it — packing before the day, storage when the dates do not line up, a clearance when a property has to be emptied rather than emptied into another house, and the single-item jobs that are too small for most removal firms to bother with.

We are open from six in the morning until ten at night, seven days a week, and we charge the same on a Saturday or a bank holiday as on a Tuesday. That is not a promotion. It is that a peak rate on the days most people can actually move has never made much sense to us.

Founder's note to come. The story of how the business started belongs in this space, in the owner's own words.

How we work

The price is priced in, not added on

Crew, van, stairs, upper floors and the carry from wherever we can park are all part of what we quote from the start. That is what makes a fixed price hold — provided the details you gave us were honest and accurate.

We photograph everything

Items, access routes and both properties, before, during and after. It is a record of the condition your things were in when they left and when they arrived, and it protects you at least as much as it protects us.

We tell you what we will not do

We do not reconnect appliances. We do not move pets. We do not take fuels, gas cylinders or fireworks. We would rather say that on a website than on your doorstep at eight in the morning.

A bad day should not become a disaster

Completions slip and chains collapse. On a fixed price we wait with no clock running, and where a delay runs too long we will take your belongings into secure storage overnight and deliver the next day.

The paperwork

Numbers you can check, rather than badges. Ask us for evidence of any of them and we will send it.

Public liability insurance
£5 million
Evidence provided on request — managing agents and commercial landlords usually want it before granting access.
Goods in transit cover
£20,000
Cash, jewellery, passports and documents sit outside standard cover, so those should travel with you.
Waste carrier registration
CBDU574812
Held by Nabosh Logistics Ltd and checkable on the Environment Agency's public register. Ask any clearance firm for theirs.
Open
6am–10pm, 7 days
Including weekends and bank holidays, at no premium. Early starts are often how a move finishes comfortably in a day.

Two ways we price a job

Fixed price

The calmer option, and what we would recommend for anything complicated: larger homes, dismantling and reassembly, or any completion day where you are waiting on keys. The crew takes no other job, the day is yours, and the price does not move — including if the keys arrive hours late. There is no waiting charge on a fixed-price booking.

It holds provided the details you gave us were honest and accurate. Mention the loft, the shed and the garage.

Hourly

Often cheaper for smaller, straightforward jobs — a few items, no dismantling, easy access. There is a two-hour minimum, waiting time is charged after the first 30 minutes, and we may have another job scheduled that day.

What is known in advance is the rate, not how long the job will take. If you want certainty, take the fixed price.

What happens when you book

  1. 1

    You get a price

Online through the quote form, or by phone or WhatsApp with a few details. You pick your date and time and tell us what is moving.

  2. 2

    We review it

The booking comes through to us and we either accept it or come back with questions first. Occasionally a job turns out bigger than the details suggested, and we would rather say so than turn up with the wrong van.

  3. 3

A 30% deposit secures the date

Once accepted, you get a booking confirmation with a payment link. Your date is not held until the deposit reaches us.

  4. 4

    We handle it from there

We arrive within your time window, work with blankets, straps, shoe covers and clean gloves, and place things where you want them. The balance is settled on completion, by cash or card.
